August 19 Newsletter - Week 1



 Hello families!

Welcome to Kindergarten! 

Some important information for this week:

1. August 19 is Back to School Night @ 6pm! đźŽ‰I am excited to see you all there! 🎉
2. August 21 is the first day of school!
3. August 21-23 are all early out days! This means students are ready to go home at 1:10pm!

This week we are going to be learning about:

1. Classroom rules and procedures
2. Learning the letters in our names
3. Recognizing the word I
4. Learning the sounds for /m/, /t/, and long /e/
5. How is everyone special? We will be discussing differences and how they strengthen our classroom!

New Pick Up Procedures

  To help improve student pick up for our kindergarteners in front of the school, we are going to make a few slight adjustments.  In addition to the gate we have been using, we will begin opening the gate east of the portable. We will then have all the kindergarten students stand in front of the portable in a “Kindergarten Zone” marked with cones. We ask that parents stand outside of the area to allow room for the students and teachers. Once you have seen your child’s class exit the gate and enter the Kindergarten Zone, you are invited to approach the area and pick up your child. THIS INCLUDES LIBRARY DAYS! Pick up will always be in the Kindergarten Zone! Carpool students will continue to meet in the back and load from the left side of the vehicle. Pick up

 Hello everyone! We decided to make things easier for you, and just have the same pickup spot everyday. This means that we will always have you pick up your kiddos at the Kindergarten Zone, right by our classroom. We decided it was too much of a change for our students to have to change where they are picked up, and some students are picked up by siblings.  Basically, unless your child is carpool or daycare, we will always have you pick them up in front of the portables by the cones we set up. If your child is carpool or daycare, they will always be at the back of the school, where our carpool line is. Drop off remains the same, where we will have them line up on the back side of the portable once the bell rings, so we can pick them up safely and bring them in!  I hope that you have all had a good Quest experience so far!
